Good news for Camborne. The date has been set for the independent review into the decisions made in regards to the Towns Store. Chris Rolley has been chosen to do the review, Chris is highly experienced in Local Government. Ex President of the Society of Local Council Clerks and former adviser to NALC Larger Councils Committee. He will be in Camborne from 18th to 20th February, where he will be interviewing Members.
It will be a few weeks after before we get the report, which I will want to be open to the Public and the Press in full. I think this is very important considering the coverage this matter has had over recent months, and also that we have nothing to hide.
What I am expecting from the review is that the good name of Members and the Town Council will be restored. That all the decisions made, were made in good faith and for the right reasons. I also hope that the Members of the Labour Group who instigated this disgusting episode will be shown for what they really are. Furthermore I hope that the review will point out any weaknesses in the Town Councils procedures, so that the Council can tighten up anything where it is needed.
